Timothy R. Franklin


Board Member

Timothy R. Franklin earned his J.D. at the University of Denver, Sturm School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Economics, from the University of Colorado at Denver. Tim is VA accredited (2009) and admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.


After graduating law school in 2008, Tim immediately began working on appeals at the CAVC and successfully argued numerous cases on behalf of disabled veterans. Tim is also experienced in bankruptcy and commercial litigation, but could not resist the draw of helping veterans and now focuses on CAVC, BVA and VA Regional Office appeals. In addition to private practice, Tim was a professor of veteran’s benefits law at the University of Denver’s Sturm School of Law and is now a Board member of Rocky Mountain Veterans’ Advocacy Project, a low bono legal clinic for disabled veterans.


Tim is the current President of the Colorado Bar Association’s Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans. Tim has presented to bar associations and veterans’ groups and is a five-time recipient of 5280 Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” in the area of veteran’s law.
