Divorce

What is a divorce?

Divorce is the legal process of ending a marriage. In Colorado, a divorce may be utilized where the couple has received a marriage certificate, where the couple is in a common-law marriage, or when the couple is in a civil union. Broadly, the process of divorce involves not only ending the marriage, but also includes a division of the couple’s marital assets and debts and (where applicable) the allocation of parental responsibilities.
